Alright! I'm going to try to keep my promise and post new drawings. The sad part about this is who am I posting this for. Hopefully, I can get more people to take a look at my site and leave comments for me. Any comments, good or bad can only help me improve. I don't know about you, but It is sooooo.... hard to keep motivated. I'm trying to make something happen and nothing seems to come about. The good part about this is that I am a resilient person and I have to get through this with a positive outlook. Well, here are some character drawings that I did recently. I tried to create my own character along with completing full body poses. I'm hesitant on drawing full body shots, because I have so much problems with hands and feet. The only way to get through this fear is take it head on. So..... going forward, I'm trying as much as possible to draw full body shots. I also want to thank those who visited the site and e-mailed positive comments. I do appreciate all the support, especially my wife. I'm sure that I am putting her through a lot since I'm going after my dream. Hopefully one day, I can make her proud. Also, I want to say Happy Belated Birthday to my friend Sibyl. Her birthday just past on March 16. Sorry, I'm horrible with remembering birthdays. I'll work on remembering people's b-day and a million other faults I have.

t-shirt design

Wow!!!! I can't believe that I've been scanning, uploading and blogging for a good part of the day. The reason for the big rush of uploads is due to my close friend Chap. He's trying to help me do what I love doing. Jobs are scarce in the animation/illustration and especially for someone with very little experience in the art and design field. I know my shot at getting that job is slim to none, but the big picture here is that he's helping me move in a positive direction. Thanks Chap!!! I know that I can always count on you to be a great friend. Since I'm on the Subject, Chap's birthday is coming up soon on the 16th or is it the 18th? Damn, I suck at remembering b-days. Why not throw a shout out there. Happy Birthday good buddy. Also my other friend Vince (V-man) had a birthday on the 7th. Happy belated birthday from our family. Man... time truly flies by fast.

This is one of my newest project. I'm trying to submit these drawings to threadless.com to hopefully have this made into t-shirts. If you are picked, you receive cash and gift certificates. The down side to this is that you lose all rights to the image(s) if you win. At this point, I'm happy to get my name out there and see it can potentially land a job or something. Hummm... I'll have to think about this.

This is to the backside of the t-shirt. I'm hoping that you the viewer will be able to tell what happened without the caption.

Damn..... I should of read all the way through. I'm only allowed 8 colors. This really sucks, but this is what I get for not reading it throughly before starting. I lost some depth to the image when I had to reduce the amount of colors, but over all, It turned out okay.

Here is what the final will look like when I submit it in for a critique. I hope people will like it. Wish me luck.

Illustrations

Sabertooth!!! What an interesting character. I drew this when my friend Jeff was working on X-Factor. His rendition of Sabertooth was incredible that it inspired me to do a piece of my own. Keep in mind that this is an old drawing and yes, the hands are jacked-up! The good thing about this is that we continue to learn from our mistakes........well..... hopefully we will (I mean, hopefully I will).

I drew this image for a t-shirt a long time ago. I had an assignment to re-vamp the Arizona Sun Devil mascot, but nothing came of this project. I still enjoy the direction that I was headed. Too bad that I screwed up the left torso and the chest. Oh, well. The good thing about this is that I can still correct my mistakes.
Here's another piece inspired by my friend Jeff when he worked on Impulse. Damn... that talented bastard. Opps, did I blog that out. I mean my good talented friend.

A couple of faces that I did recently. Nothing too special about them. Just killing some time while working on some different characters.
I did this breast creature some time last year. I used the same pose that a talented artist named Keron Grant drew, but tried to make it my own.

I like these two characters. I would like to do something with them in the future. What? Not sure. It will all depend on how much I want to make it in this business. Time will tell.....

Graphic Design II class

While taking 3D class, I also enrolled in a Graphics II class. I thought that I could handle two class while working, but I was mistaken. I struggle to balance two classes, work and my family. I'll think twice before taking two classes that demands a lot of work and dedication from me again.

2D Design at IVC College part II

Here's my initial drawing before attempting to paint the head. My inspiration came from the arcade game Dragon's Lair (one of my all time favorite video game). One of these days, I'm going to find the actual Dragon's Lair arcade game along with Space Ace and purchase them.

Now I definitely screwed this all up. Oh boy..... Well, here's my final project for 2D design class which happens to be my final examine. The project required that we include the use of paint as well as incorporating magazine clippings to give the image texture. I painted the dragons head and used magazine clipping to complete the rest of the image.

Okay.... I'm screwing this up. These images are not placed correctly on this blog so please forgive me. All this is sort of new to me so I'm still going through the learning process of how to work this blog.

2D Design at IVC College

Here's a bunch of art that I did in my 2D class. I really enjoyed both 2D and 3D classes this year. I've never painted anything except for elementary school, which doesn't really count or does it? First few pieces were done using ink and marker. I completed the other pieces using gouache.

3D designs

Here's a spider design I did in my 3D design class. The goal is to create an object using one shape. I used different sizes of the cone-like shape to create the spider-like appearance. The project turned out decent.

Here's another design using the same concept. This design seem simple, but it was really difficult to create two half circles going the opposite direction while balancing the object upright. I was amazed that the piece stayed up.
